Jackson Turns 9!

Jackson turned 9 on Friday. We celebrated as a family with dinner at Outback and dessert at Scoops. His party was last night. He and his dad and 7 friends went to the Georgia Force arena football game. They had a great time. I can't believe he is 9!

Will's Easter Party

Will's Easter Party at school was on Wednesday. They started with a brunch, moved on to the egg hunt, then had 2 crafts and a treat. That made for a really long party. After they finished the 1st craft and announced the second, Will asked everyone, "Why do we have to do ANOTHER craft?". I felt the same way. The added bonus of the brunch was that Kate & Sam looked great when we left the house but both had stains all down their fronts within 15 minutes. Kate squashed a cherry tomato right in the middle of her dress and Sam drooled strawberries down the front of his shirt. Why do I bother with nice clothes, seriously? All in all, Will had a great time.

Date Night with Will

Happiness is...

Me & Will at Chuck E. Cheese with 80 tokens to spend and lots of time!

It was Will's turn for Date Night last Friday. I think he really wanted to pick Steve but since Steve was not feeling up to it (hmmm....) he got me. I realized right after I ordered all of those tokens that we would never use them all. I finally started shoving handfuls of them in my back pockets when he wasn't looking after we had been there for 2 hours. Will doesn't care a bunch about the tickets. He really likes the racing games or anything he can win. If it's too hard, he won't do it more than once. If he is good at it, he will tell you all about it. He loves that one game where you shoot the water at the bullseye to ring the bell. He talked about that game the whole way there and that was the first and last game of the night. We did manage to rack up 100 tickets. He chose an Airhead and 2 lollipops. That kid is all about the food! I realized the next morning that he didn't eat any of what he bought. He told me he was waiting for Jackson to get home from a sleepover so he could give him the Airhead. I asked him why he wanted to give it to his brother. He replied, "because it will make him happy". While we were eating dinner, he looked at me and said, "Mom, why do you like me?". I gave him a long list of all of the many reasons that I like him while he smiled big and nodded the whole time in agreement. I then asked him, "Will, why do you like me?". He said, "because I love you!". How great is that kid?

Happy Birthday Zaners!

This one is a bit belated. Zane turned 7 on February 20th. He wisely chose Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday dinner (great choice for a skinny kid who could care less about eating) and a birthday party at Stars & Strikes.

Happy Birthday Katie-Bug!

Kate turned 3 on Sunday. Where has time gone? She was very excited for her pink Hello Kitty cake and the presents....so excited that she started opening presents right after church while the rest of us were upstairs changing our clothes! We lit the candles to sing "Happy Birthday" and she got so excited that she blew them out before we started singing! That girl was all about her birthday.

I planned on taking all of the kids to Build-a-Bear instead of throwing a birthday party. I ended up only taking Kate & Will (Sam came along for the ride). Jackson & Zane got a better offer to go to the movies with their friends. That probably worked out well for me since Kate managed to spend over $50 on her bear. It's a good thing I bought all of those accessories since she just likes to take them all off and leave them everywhere! Will thought the football outfit for his monkey was super-cool.

February in Georgia

This one is for my sister-in-law, Melissa!
The temperatures have been great the past few weeks, even for Georgia. We went to the park last Saturday with the kids to enjoy the great weather.

Happy February!

Will wanted a cookie after going on a field trip to Publix with his class from school. I decided to be a good mom and make sugar cookies with Will & Kate while Jackson & Zane were at school and Sam was sleeping. Notice the sleeveless smocked dress Kate is wearing along with the clothes on the floor in the background. That was at least her 2nd outfit change that afternoon.
